The international airport of Malaga is only 40 minutes away, thanks to the motorway access along the Ronda Road.

Benahavís forms part of the municipalities where it is cheaper to own a home. Its neighbors pay less than half that in other municipalities such as Torremolinos, where the municipalities raise the rate to improve municipal income rates taking advantage of the existence of a high number of tourist flats. It is not a casualty that the municipalities with the lowest rates have less than 10,000 inhabitants and are mainly located in the interior. Their IBI rates tend to be lower so as not to tax their inhabitants and retain population.
In Benahavís there are plenty of education facilities: from Our Lady of the Rosary (Infant and Primary Education Center), which provides bilingual classes and fun sport and extra curricular activities and the CEIP Daidín, an exceptional state institution situated in the heart of Benahavís pueblo that provides education for children from the age of three up to 12 years, to the Atalaya School, which is a quite recent establishment providing bilingual educational facility that offers infant, primary, secondary and senior classes.
Benahavís is a very safe place since a year or so ago videocamaras were installed on all main roads in order to assure 24h surveillance. There is also a large amount of gated urbanisations, closed complexes and leisures sites with security staff.
The municipality is crossed by three large rivers that flow into the Mediterranean and arrive from the Serranía de Ronda: the Guadalmina, the Guadalmansa and Gaudaiza. The road that goes up to Benahavís offers some of the most spectacular views of the Costa del Sol and its changing landscapes as you move away from the coast. Most of the municipality is densely covered with olive trees and other Mediterranean vegetation, such as chestnut trees in the areas near the rivers, which gives the impression of a green and fertile landscape throughout the whole year.
Benahavís is well known to be the most expensive municipality of Spain concerning the cost of buying a home. The average selling price is around 497.000 euros, while the average of Malaga is 272.000 euros. That’s why not everyone can afford buying a property in this privileged enclave.
