San Pedro is a bustling full service Town located to the West of Puerto Banus and the East of Guadalmina.
It has undergone a major transformation in recent years. It still remains its Spanish atmosphere and offers an impressive number of typical bars and restaurants, along with shops and services.
The beachside of the Town offers a wonderful, wide beach promenade with quite a few restaurants, greatly appreciated by both locals and visitors. The beachside of Town offers many newly built developments of especially apartments, however, a smaller villa area called Linda Vista is sought after, for the proximity to Town and the beach.
San Pedro de Alcantara is an active Town for sports, with own Paddle tennis club, indoor sports centre, and frequent bike races takes place here throughout the year.
The biggest news for San Pedro de Alcantara is undoubtedly the new underpass, taking the main costal highway (the A7) under the town, which opened in June, 2012. It will have a huge impact on the Town, connecting it far more efficiently to Marbella Town and the Western part of Town down towards Estepona.
Basically on top of the new underpass, and along the new main street in San Pedro de Alcantara, an impressive 55,000m2 boulevard will open in September, 2014 and will provide a variety of bars, cafés, children’s park and other games areas, bicycle lanes, an amphitheatre, water features, etc. The town hall is even planning a gourmet market and the work is anticipated to start before the end of the year.
